Compete In Multiple Science Fairs

By msecsuper Jan 23, 2012

You can participate in more than one science fair using your project as long as you follow the rules. Read more to find out how and where. In some cases it will just be a matter of submitting your research paper.

If you are in the Elementary division (grades 4-5) then you will likely have a fair at your school in addition to the Mercer Science and Engineering Fair. At this point, those are probably the only ones available to you. Let us know if you hear of more.

Junior division (grades 6-8) and Senior division (grades 9-12) students may only compete in one Intel ISEF (International Science and Engineering) affiliated fair per year. The same project can be used in any non-ISEF affiliated fair.

For the Junior division there is a local science fair associated with the Mercer County's Health Science Academy, 1085 Old Trenton Road, West Windsor, NJ 08690. The Mercer County Science Fair at HSA is part of Jacklyn Rapport's Girl Scout Gold Award project. The fair is open to students in grades 6-8 and fair is Saturday, April 28, 2012 and the awards ceremony is Tuesday, May 1, 2012. Check out the sciencefair4all.webs.com website for an application.

Senior division students can compete in the Siemens Competition and Intel Science Talent Search. Check out the websites for details. The Siemens Compeition is for grades 9-12. The Intel Science Talent Search is open to 12th grade students only. The schedules and rules for these competitions are different from MSEF and ISEF so make sure you check into the details. The dates of the competition are also different so check out the details.
