Who can enter the Mercer Science and Engineering Fair?

Students in grades 4-12 that attend school or are home schooled in Mercer County, NJ can participate in the annual Mercer Science and Engineering Fair (MSEF).

Students in grades 4 and 5 compete in the Elementary Division. Students in grades 6-8 compete in the Junior Division and students in grades 9-12 compete in the Senior Division.

Students in the Senior can compete in only one ISEF affiliated fair in the same academic year. They can compete in MSEF and any non-ISEF affiliated fairs in the same academic year.

How do I do a science fair project?

Essentially you need to come up with an idea, create a research plan, complete some additional forms, perform your experiments, analyse and present your results at the fair. Make sure you check out the rules and complete all the necessary forms including registering for the fair.
